Kaufman and Penney Earn Ivy Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. - After earning a victory over No. 17 NC State, the Tigers had a pair of Ivy League honorees in Brady Kaufman and Ryan Penney. Kaufman was named Pitcher of the Week, while Ryan Penney earned Rookie of the Week recognition.
In their collegiate debuts against NC State, the freshman standouts delivered in a shutout victory. Kaufman started and worked five strong innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three to secure his first career win.
Penney was equally impressive, retiring eight of the first nine batters he faced before taking the mound in the ninth. After the Wolfpack opened their final at-bat with a double, Penney responded with a fly out and back-to-back strikeouts to seal the victory.
Princeton heads back on the road to take on Duke in Durham, North Carolina.
