Princeton Falls To Yale In ECAC Championship Opener
February 06, 2026 | Women's Tennis
It'll be an early Saturday for the higher seeds in the upper bracket at the ECAC women's tennis championships at the Si Qin Family Indoor Tennis Center.
Both of the higher seeds lost in the first round Friday, including fourth seed Princeton, who dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 5 Yale to move into the consolation round. Princeton's opponent Saturday morning at 8 am will be Harvard, the top seed, who fell 4-3 to No. 8 Brown in the first match of the tournament.
After Yale won the doubles point, the teams played through some very close singles matches, where the Bulldogs won two in three sets and another in straight sets that required a rally from 5-2 down in the second. Princeton's point came from Isabella Chhiv at No. 2, who won her match 6-4, 7-6 over Leena Friedman.
