Princeton Takes 4-1 ECAC Consolation Win Over Harvard

As the name suggests, there was consolation to be found for the Princeton women's tennis team Saturday morning at the ECAC Championships.
Princeton bounced back from a quarterfinal loss to Yale Friday to take down top-seeded Harvard 4-1 in the consolation round early Saturday. The win offers Princeton another chance for more solace Sunday morning at 8, when the Tigers will take on the winner of the match between Cornell and Dartmouth in the fifth-place match.
Despite the 8 am start time, Princeton, the fourth seed, sprinted away quickly from the Crimson, who had lost to No. 8 Brown in the quarterfinals. The doubles point went the Tigers way with wins by Isabella Chhiv and Eva Elbaz at No. 2 and Maren Urata and Alice Ferlito at No. 3, and Elbaz (No. 3) and Zhang (No. 6) won straight set singles matches while dropping only three games in four sets between them.
Harvard's Claire Shao won at No. 4 to keep the Crimson in it, but the deciding point came from Isabella Chhiv at No. 2 with a 6-4, 6-2 win ovr Kavya Karra. Princeton's Ferlito at No. 1 and Annna Maria Fedotova were both up a set when the match ended.
