Davidson and Lucas Earn CWPA Weekly Honors

PRINCETON – Shanna Davidson and Lindsey Lucas have been selected for Collegiate Water Polo Association weekly honors, the conference announced.
Davidson was honored as CWPA Player of the Week while Lucas nabbed Defensive Player of the Week laurels. This is the fifth weekly honor for Davidson as she has three Rookie selections and two Player of the Week accolades. This is the 19th time Lucas was picked for Defensive Player of the Week, matching the same total as Ashleigh Johnson '17.
Davidson produced five multi-goal performances for Princeton last week, totaling 16 goals along with 12 assists and 11 steals. The senior had seven points highlighted by five helpers at No. 25 Pomona-Pitzer before consecutive two-goal performances at No. 19 San Diego State and vs. Whittier. She ended the San Diego State Invitational with five goals each vs. No. 9 Indiana and No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer.
Davidson is having a career season in her senior campaign with a personal-high 55 goals along with 36 assists, one shy of career best. She leads the team in tallies, steals (43) and sprint wins (21).
Lucas had arguably the best performance of her career vs. No. 25 Pomona-Pitzer, stopping 18 shots and allowing just one goal. She produced 13 saves vs. No. 2 UCLA, 11 more stops at No. 19 San Diego State and 13 saves vs. No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer. For the season, Lucas sits with a 13-5 record, 179 saves and a .566 save percentage.
