PRINCETON, N.J. – Alexandra Kelly, Michelle Eisenreich and Reuben Jones were honored in the USTFCCCA's regional awards, announced Thursday.
For the Mid-Atlantic Region, Kelly was named Field Athlete of the Year, Eisenreich was named Coach of the Year, and Jones was named Assistant Coach of the Year.
The honors come after a standout season for the Tigers as they claimed a second-straight Indoor Ivy League Championship title and fifth-straight Heps title, as they chase back-to-back Triple Crowns.
At indoor Heps, Princeton scored a meet-record 188.5 points while winning 10 events. The Tigers also set three Ivy League meet records and two all-time Ivy League records.
At NCAAs, the Tiger jumpers shined with Kelly and Georgina Scoot representing Princeton at the national level. Both earned First Team All-American honors in their respective events, with Kelly placing third in the long jump and Scoot taking sixth in the triple jump.
Kelly, setting a new personal best and school record of 6.54m, took bronze at NCAAs. The came just two weeks after she won a third Ivy League indoor championship title in the long jump. She also finished second in the triple jump at Heps, contributing a total of 18 points to the team score.
Jones coached Tiger athletes to score 78 of Princeton's 188 points in winning the team title at the Ivy League Indoor Championships, led by wins in the 500 meters, long jump and triple jump. Specializing in jumps and sprints, he mentored both All-Americans at NCAAs.
With a historic indoor season now behind them, the newly-decorated Tigers will now head into the outdoor season, beginning the action next weekend at the Monmouth Season Opener.
