San Diego Defeats Softball Team in Trip Finale

San Diego defeated the Princeton softball team in the Tigers' California trip finale on Monday, scoring six times after Princeton opened the scoring in the fourth inning to win 6-1.
Princeton (7-7) opened the scoring in the fourth when Sonia Zhang delivered an RBI single that brought home Graciela Dominguez who had reached on a leadoff walk.
San Diego responded immediately in the bottom half of the frame with two runs to take the lead, then opened the game up with a four-run fifth inning.
Julia Dumais paced the Tigers at the plate with two of Princeton's five hits, while Abby Hornberger and Karis Ford each added a single.
The Tigers will open their home schedule this weekend with a three-game series against Binghamton, beginning with a 1:30 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
