Men’s Lightweight Rowing Featured Among IRCA Postseason Awards Finalists

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRCA) announced its finalists for its postseason awards Monday, and the Princeton University men's lightweight rowing team's staff was named a finalist for Coaching Staff of the Year and Reuben Cook for the Oarsman.
Princeton's staff, first-year head coach Matt Smith and David Burke, led the Tigers to a second-place finish at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRCA) National Championships where the 1V won silver and the 2V bronze. At Eastern Sprints, Smith and Burke guided Princeton to the program's 17th Jope Cup title, with the 3V winning gold and the 1V and 2V silver. The winner will be announced on June 26.
The Oarsman stands as a tribute to rare athletes who achieve greatness noy only through personal excellence but through a lasting commitment to their team, their sport, and the values that define true champion. Cook was a key to the Tigers' success in 2026, sitting in the stroke seat for the 1V.
The winner of the Oarsman will be announced on July 2.
