McCamey '25 Signs with FC Barcelona Femení

Princeton women's soccer alumna Tyler McCamey '25 has signed with FC Barcelona Femení, joining one of the world's premier women's soccer clubs.
FC Barcelona announced that McCamey, has joined the club on a two-year agreement through 2028 after playing professionally with Dallas Trinity FC. McCamey is believed to be the first American woman to sign with FC Barcelona Femení.
"During COVID, a time riddled with uncertainty, Tyler moved to Chicago to train with her former goal keeper coach who was working with the NWSL franchise in that city," Princeton head coach Sean Driscoll said. "Her decision to take a challenging moment and reframe it into a time for immense growth showed our staff a glimpse of what we would soon see on campus. Tyler's relentless approach from the minute she arrived at Princeton to the day she graduated was omnipresent. She pushed herself, her teammates, and our staff continuously in an effort to maximize her journey and our evolution as a program. It comes as no surprise that success continues to follow her after college. Countless teams have recognized her immense talent, competitive drive, and passion for the sport. I am incredibly grateful that she has earned this incomparable and life-changing opportunity with Barcelona. Her pursuit of excellence and consummate professionalism will be a wonderful foundation for success in Spain and I cannot wait to continue to watch her career unfold."
McCamey joins the reigning UEFA Women's Champions League winners, with Barcelona defeating OL Lyonnes 4-0 in the 2026 final to claim its fourth European title in six years. Barça has also won seven straight Spanish league titles, continuing one of the most dominant runs in global women's club soccer.
The move follows McCamey's first professional season with Dallas Trinity FC after beginning her professional career with Gotham FC and Kansas City Current.
At Princeton, McCamey was a first-team All-Ivy League and first-team United Soccer Coaches all-region honoree in 2024, when she served as a team co-captain, started all 17 games and recorded a career-high eight shutouts. McCamey led the Ivy League in goals-against average at 0.647 and in shutouts that season (eight). She also earned two Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors in 2024, made three saves in Princeton's shutout of Brown to win the Ivy League Tournament, and made three saves in a shutout of Columbia that clinched the Ivy League regular-season title.
In 2023, she played 1,688 of the team's 1,730 minutes, recorded six solo shutouts and one combined shutout, and played all 200 minutes of Princeton's two NCAA tournament shutouts against Michigan and Texas Tech. As a sophomore in 2022, she became Princeton's starting keeper, logging 1,080 minutes, and as a rookie in 2021, she began her Tiger career with a 4-0 record and a 0.26 goals-against average.
A politics major from Atlanta, McCamey helped Princeton win Ivy League titles in 2023 and 2024, including the Ivy League Tournament championship in 2024.
