August Leal appeared in four games for the Tigers and scored goals in Princeton's cross-over wins over Fordham and Iona. He also drew an ejection in the Iona win.

Leal attended Davis Senior High School and was a member of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Championship team as both a freshmen and senior. Leal served as the team’s captain as a senior and was named the team’s Co-MVP in a season he in which he scored 83 goals. Leal was also awarded the Division 1 CIF Section Player of the Year, was a Sacramento Bee All-Section team member, and was a third-team All-America. Leal also was a member of the Davis Water Polo Club for several years and competed in the Junior Olympics.
