Jeremy Meccage has spent eight seasons as an assistant coach with the Princeton baseball team. Meccage was a four-year starting pitcher for the University of Iowa.
As a Hawkeye, he led the team in innings pitched in 1995, 1997 and 1998. Additionally, he led the squad in wins in 1997 and 1998 and ERA in 1998. Twice he led the team in strikeouts.
Meccage was drafted twice by the Los Angeles Dodgers, first as a senior in high school and later following his junior season in college. He signed with the Detroit Tigers during the 2000 season and played professionally for the European B-Champion Brasschaat Braves. Meccage’s brother Justin was selected by the New York Yankees in the 2003 draft.
After having his career cut short by arm troubles, Meccage received his MBA from Iowa’s Tippie School of Management and currently owns and operates Zag Sports, Inc., an international sports experience designer.
Meccage and his wife Melissa, an assistant coach for Princeton’s field hockey team, have a son Bryce.
