Ryan Matthews enters his second season as the team’s basketball operations assistant in 2019-2020.
Matthews spent three years on campus at the University of New England before earning his degree in sports management. While at the University of New England, he was a member of the men’s basketball team, playing in 58 games in his three-year campaign. Matthews was a key member of a team that had the most conference wins since 2009.
While an undergraduate, the Park Ridge, NJ. native worked as a counselor at various summer basketball camps, including Princeton, Hoop Group, Lehigh, Univ. of New England, and Bergen Catholic High School.
Matthews’s responsibilities include coordinating film exchange with other universities, managing film operations for practices and games, assisting with team travel, and helping the coaching staff with on-campus recruiting events and tasks. He will also assist the director of basketball operations in overseeing the team’s managers and coordinating camps and clinics.
