2021-22: Competed in all three diving events at the NCAA Championships...Ivy League Championships High Point Diver of the Meet...Academic All-Ivy...Second team All-Ivy in the 1-meter and 3-meter...Awarded the War Memorial trophy, given to the senior who has made the most outstanding contribution during upperclass years to the sport through diligence in studies, devotion in swimming/diving and excellence in performance...Recipient of the Matthew R. 2019-20: CSCAA All-American on 1-meter, 3-meter and platform...NCAA qualifier on 1-meter, 3-meter and platform...did not get to compete at the NCAA Championships as the meet was canceled due to a nationwide outbreak of the COVID-19 virus...earned CSCAA Scholar-Athlete All-America honors...second team All-Ivy on 3-meter...set a new school dual meet record on platform (392.85).
2018-19: Second-team All-Ivy on the one-meter and three-meter boards ... Set top scores on the one-meter board at 298.10 (11 dives) and the three-meter board at 262.85 (11 dives) at the Cornell-Penn meet.
2017-18: earned second-team All-Ivy League honors in the 3-meter diving final; scored 392.50 points, the seventh-most in the history of the event at Ivies, and the second-most ever by a freshman at the Ivy League … set a top platform six-dive score of 325.80 at the Big Al meet ... made Ivy Championships debut in the 1-meter final and placed fifth with 336.95 points … qualified for and competed in all three diving events at the NCAA Championships.
Before Princeton: Two-time state champion … won Academy League and CIF three times apiece … four-time club national champion … represented USA Diving at the Junior Worlds in Penza, Russia (2014), as well as at a youth competition in Germany (2016) … invited to compete at World Trials this summer … holds the California state record and the Academy League record … team captain … a member of the USA Diving's High Performance Squad Tier II three times … Elite Scholar-Athlete honoree … National Honor Society member … Distinguished Scholar.
Personal: Born April 17, 1999 … son of Roger and Kerry Young … has an older sibling Madison, who was an All-America diver at Georgia Tech … cousin Lindsey Ensign Olson '09 was an All-Ivy League volleyball player at Princeton … has played the piano since he was four and has completed Level 10 of the Certificate of Merit for piano … enjoys going to the beach … undecided on course of study at Princeton, but considering either the psychology or business fields.
