Before College: Won the state title in the pole vault at the CIF state meet, clearing 17 feet, 10 inches, a state-meet record…Also blew away the field by at least two feet…Just the second athlete to ever break 18 feet in the pole vault indoors in January 2018 at the National Pole Vault Summit…His 5.55m (18-2.5) effort in the Arcadia Invitational in April 2018 set the state record and the Norwegian Junior National mark…Cleared 5.46m (17-11) to take first place at the 91st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays...Recorded a PR of 14.02 in the 110m hurdles to finish second at the CIF State Championship Finals...State of California high school record holder for the pole vault (both indoor and outdoor)...At the 2018 European Senior Championships, set a Norwegian record with a vault of 5.75m (18-10.25) … Ultimately finished in sixth place, the best sixth-place finisher in European Championships history…In 2016 at the U18 Championships, took Bronze in the pole vault with a mark of 5.05m (16-3.75)…At Norway’s U-20 Championships, took silver in the long jump with a mark of 6.87m (22-6.50).
Personal: Son of Kristin and Atle Guttormsen…Has two brothers, Simen and Sebastian…Also has one younger sister, Sara … Hobbies include gymnastics, cliff diving, scuba diving and surfing…Admires Sergei Bubka and gymnast Nile Wilson.
