Katie Bitz is in her first season as the assistant coach for the Princeton women's lightweight crew. She will work with head coach Paul Rassam in all phases of the program, including recruiting and working with the novice rowers.
Bitz was a former coxswain for the Michigan State Spartans and helped the team to two Big Ten titles during her four years in East Lansing. She led the varsity eight to the 2008 Big Ten title and was part of Michigan State's overall team champion. Bitz also helped the Spartans win their first ever Central Region championship in 2008.
A first-team All-Big Ten and All-Central Region coxswain, Bitz attended U-23 camp in 2008. She started training with the U.S. national team in January of 2009 and is presently training with the Princeton-based program. Her coaching experience includes time with the Mercer Juniors girls' varsity assistant coach (2009-2010) and assisting the development athletes with the U.S. National Team.
