Women's Volleyball Falls in a Thriller at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. - The Princeton Tigers, fresh off a 2-0 Ivy League weekend, fell to non-conference Fordham Wedensday night 3-2. The loss drops Princeton to 13-4, Fordham improves to 3-15.
The Tigers dug themselves an early hole when Fordham took games one and two. Princeton took the next two games by identical 15-13 scores but couldn't pull out the fifth game. Fordham came up big in the final points of the rally-scoring game, winning 16-14 and claiming the match.
The Tigers were led by Erika Hansen (Sr., Newport Beach, Calif.), who had 15 kills and 17 digs, and Sabrina King (Jr., Laguna Beach, Calif.), who had 14 kills and 15 digs. Emily Brown (Jr., Palo Alto, Calif.) provided her usual consistent hitting, killing 12 out of 31 balls while making only two errors. Alexis Collins (So., Los Angeles, Calif.) had seven kills and a team-high 18 digs. Melissa Ford (Sr., Los Angeles, Calif.) had 49 assists while Michelle Buffum (Fr., San Jose, Calif.) added 12 kills.
Tihana Sarlija, who recorded her 1,000th career kill against Princeton, led Fordham with 18 kills while Erica Lum had 17 digs.
Princeton will return to the friendly confines of Dillon Gym this weekend for another pair of Ivy League contests. The Tigers will host Harvard on Friday at 7:30 and Dartmouth on Saturday at 4 p.m.
