Seniors Celebrate Victory Over St. John's in Final Home Match for Princeton Women's Volleyball

PRINCETON, N.J.— Melissa Ford (Sr., Newport Beach, Calif.) had 51 assists and Erika Hansen (Sr., Newport Beach, Calif.) had 14 kills, 12 digs and hit at a .313 clip to lead the Princeton University women's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over St. John's tonight at Dillon Gym. The win is the final home match for the two senior co-captains. The Tigers improved to 15-5 overall and 4-1 against Big East opponents. Princeton is 2-0 against St. John's, 1-0 against West Virginia and 1-1 against Syracuse.
The Tigers had solid hitting performances all around. Emily Brown (Jr., Palo Alto, Calif.) hit a match-high .444 with nine kills. Michelle Buffum (Fr., San Jose, Calif.) led Princeton with 20 kills while Sabrina King (Jr., Los Angeles, Calif.) had 16 kills and only four errors.
Kristine Knobel (Gr., Santa Rosa, Calif.) and Aleeza Miller (Jr., Los Angeles, Calif.) both had 12 kills to lead St. John's. Stasha Levi (So., Gillette, Wyo.) had 47 assists.
Princeton will travel to Pennsylvania for an Ivy League contest on Friday night.
