Holmes, Kilbourne Lead Princeton Women's Hockey to Victory

PRINCETON, N.J. - Annamarie Holmes (Jr., Apple Valley, Minn.) scored on a slap shop and added three assists to lead the Princeton University women's hockey team to a 4-2 victory over Cornell today at Baker Rink. The win brings Princeton to 2-2-1 in the ECAC while Cornell drops to 2-3.
The first period was well-played by both teams, but Princeton got the only goal when Laura Hays (Jr., Meadville, Pa.) scored a power-play goal. Andrea Kilbourne (So., Saranac Lake, N.Y.), Aviva Grumet-Morris (So., Evanston, Ill.) and Holmes scored early in the second period to give Princeton a comfortable advantage. Kilbourne had two other assists to go with her goals.
Sarah Ahlquist (Fr., South St. Paul, Minn.) recorded the victory after starting in net for the first time in her career. She made 26 saves. Alison Stewart and Danielle Bilodeau recorded goals for Cornell.
Princeton hosts St. Lawrence tomorrow at 2 p.m.
