PRINCETON, N.J. - After defeating Cornell yesterday, the Princeton women's hockey team fell today to St. Lawrence 3-2 in Baker Rink. Caroline Trudeau opened the scoring for the Saints four minutes into the first period.
Stacy Boudrias continued the scoring for the Saints just 27 seconds into the second period. Boudrias connected on a deflection off of Tiger goalie Susan Maes (So., Manitowoc, Wisc.). Ten minutes later, Andrea Kilbourne (So., Saranac Lake, N.Y.) scored on a pass from Nikola Holmes (Fr., Apple Valley, Minn.). Annamarie Holmes (Jr., Apple Valley, Minn.) also assisted on the power play goal. Despite outshooting St. Lawrence 14-3, Princeton was unable to score again.
In the third period, Princeton tied the game with a goal by Annie Seelaus (Sr., Summit, N.J.). Annamarie Holmes and Kilbourne each had an assist on the goal. The Tigers then received a tripping penalty at the halfway mark of the period and St. Lawrence was able to capitalize. For the first time in the game, the Saints were able to put more than two shots together in front of the goal. Maes was able to save all but one shot right in front off the stick of Nicole Kirnan. Kirnan's goal stood as the winner. The Tigers managed to net the puck as the game clock expired, but the shot was ruled after the buzzer.
