PRINCETON, N.J. - Despite Andrea Kilbourne's (So., Saranac, Lake, N.Y.) hat-trick, the Princeton women's hockey team could not score a win in the second day of play at the 1999 Princeton Women's Hockey Tournament. The Tigers had a 4-2 lead nearly half way through the third period, but two late goals by Wisconsin tied the game at four.
Princeton jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Melissa DeLand (So., Washington, D.C.) and Kilbourne. Wisconsin got the first of two goals by Kelly Kegley at the 15:51 mark of the first. Kilbourne put the only goal of the second period on the board with a nifty shot that banked off Badger goalie Jackie MacMillan.
The Tigers were outscored 3-1 in the final period. Kilbourne posted her third of the game on the power play to make the score 4-2 before Wisconsin posted the comeback. Kendra Antony scored at the 18:05 mark on a breakaway and Michelle Sikich posted the tying goal on a wrist shot from the point.
Princeton fired five shots as each team had a power play in the extra stanza, but the game ended in a 4-4 tie.
Susan Maes (So., Manitowoc, Wisc.) posted 14 saves for the Tigers. MacMillan had 35 saves on 39 Tiger shots.
The Tournament continues tomorrow with Yale taking on Wisconsin at 11:00 and Princeton vs. Ohio State at 1:30.
