Princeton Falls To Penn, 41-13

PHILADELPHIA - Pennsylvania broke open a tight game with three touchdowns in a 5:14 span of the third quarter en route to a 41-13 win over Princeton in front of 18,305 at Franklin Field.
Princeton slipped to 3-5 overall, 1-4 in the Ivy League. The Tigers host Yale next Saturday, Nov. 13, at Princeton Stadium in a 1:07 kickoff.
Penn led 6-0 after a pair of first half field goals by Jason Feinberg, but Princeton came back to tie it when Taylor Northrop kicked a 21-yard field goal with 3:34 to go in the first half and a 47-yard field goal eight seconds before intermission.
Penn, however, took control in the third quarter. A fumble by Princeton was recovered at the Quaker 34, and Gavin Hoffman cashed it in three plays later with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Rob Milanese. A six-yard punt followed Princeton's next possession, and Kris Ryan finished that drive with a five-yard TD run.
Princeton's Tommy Crenshaw was then injured on the next series, and his replacement, Jon Blevins, had a pass intercepted by Kunle Williams and returned 41 yards for another score to make it 27-6.
Blevins then directed an eight-play, 57-yard drive for a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter, the score a three-yard pass from Blevins to Marty Cheatham. Penn would then put it away with a six-yard Matt Thomas touchdown run and a 102-yard interception return with 34 seconds to play.
Crenshaw, who suffered an elbow injury that ended his day but was not considered serious, was 14 for 23 for 137 yards. Blevins completed 9 of 19 for 108 yards and the touchdown.
Phil Wendler caught nine passes for 90 yards to give him 61 receptions on the season. Wendler has caught at least six passes in every game this season.
Ryan Demler led Princeton with seven tackles, while Steven Koopman had six. Brian Beem had an interception for the Tigers.
