Tigers Set to Ring in New Year

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton men's and women's tracka nd field teams kicked off their indoor seasons this afternoon at Jadwin Gym with the New Year's Invitational. Both teams had some positives to build on throughout the season.
The men's team was led by Ryan Smith in the mile run with a first place finish of 4:12.93. Scott Denbo also put together a first place finish in the shot put with a toss of 58-5.25. John Mack finished first in the 500 meters with a time of 1:04.41 and Pat McGinley won the triple jump of 13.61 meters.
On the women's side of the competition, Princeton got a first place finish from Lauren Simmons in the 500 meters with a time of 1:17.2. Khalila Thomas garnered second place in the shot put with a heave of 12.38 meters. Becca Desman had a second place finish in the high jump with a height of 5-6.5
Both teams are off for the Holidays. The men's team returns to action on Jan. 9 with a dual meet with Navy while the women are at Delaware on Jan. 7.
