PRINCETON, N.J. - O'Malley scores twice to lead Tigers to win
No. 3 Tigers top Georgetown in season opener
PRINCETON, N.J. - Molly O'Malley (Sr., Tunkhannock, Pa.) scored in each half to lead the Princeton University field hockey team to a 3-0 win over Georgetown. O'Malley scored her first goal off a rebound and her second off a shot 10 yards in front of the cage. Kate Fox (Jr., Chichester, N.H.) scored the other goal on a penalty stroke.
Meg DeJong (Sr., Tinton Falls, N.J.) made four saves in the win and notched the second shutout of her career. Georgetown goalie Lori Sousa (Sr., Somerset, Mass.) made 22 saves.
"The last 15 minutes, I thought we played well," Princeton coach Beth Bozman said. "Kim [Simons, Georgetown coach and 1994 Princeton graduate] knew our big guns. They did a good job preparing for us. It was a good start. We'll be better tomorrow."
The Tigers, ranked third in the national preseason poll, will host the No. 20 Boston University Terriers tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
