DeJong Shuts Out Third Top-20 Opponent

NEW HAVEN, Ct. - Princeton University field hockey goalkeeper Meg DeJong (Sr., Tinton Falls, N.J.) has gone over 368 minutes since giving up a goal, a stretch that includes today's 2-0 win over No. 18 Yale.
DeJong leads the nation with both a .966 save percentage and a 0.14 goals against average. The only shot that has beaten DeJong came in the second game of the season, when the Tigers held a 4-0 lead over Boston University. She holds shutouts over Syracuse (No. 11) and Maryland (No. 8) already this season.
The No. 4 Tigers, who were led by unassisted goals from Kirsty Hale (Sr., Virginia Beach, Va.) and Hilary Matson (So., Marathon, N.Y.), are now 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the Ivy League. They are the four-time defending Ivy champions.
Princeton outshot Yale, 13-4, and had an 8-1 advantage in penalty corners. The Tigers will host Rutgers University, currently ranked 15th nationally, on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
