Tigers Rout Highly-Ranked Competition

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Princeton University field hockey team took its first shot of the season at a top-10 opponent today and walked away with a 7-0 victory.
After a tightly-contested first half, the Tigers jumped all over Syracuse for six goals in the second half in a rout of the ninth-ranked Orangewomen. Kirsty Hale (Sr., Virginia Beach, Va.) scored two of the goals, giving her a share of the all-time record at Princeton with 60 career goals. She is tied with Tigers' assistant coach Amy MacFarlane.
Molly O'Malley (Sr., Tunkhannock, Pa.) put in a rebound for the only goal of the first half and scored again in the second half. She currently has five goals, most on the team. Meg DeJong (Sr., Tinton Falls, N.J.) notched her third shutout of the season by making eight saves.
The Tigers, who are in search of their fifth consecutive Ivy League crown, will host Dartmouth College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
