Tigers Remain Undefeated With Victory Over Saints

CANTON, N.Y. - Senior Ali Coughlin (Lincoln, Mass.) led in Princeton?s 6-3 victory over St. Lawrence with two goals and two assists in their first road game in Canton, N.Y today. Freshman Andrea Kilbourne (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) also contributed a solid performance with a goal and two assists. St. Lawrence took the initial lead when Caroline Trudeau scored the Saints' first goal at 14:18. The Tigers answered back less than three minutes later at 17:03 when Coughlin netted her first goal of the day off a Kilbourne assist.
Both teams lit up the lamp during the second period, beginning with Coughlin's second goal off of another Kilbourne assist just 37 seconds into the period on the power play. St. Lawrence answered back with two consecutive scores at 11:54 and then again at 13:41. The Tigers were not done, however, as junior Dani Holtschlag (Depere, Wis.) netted a goal with assists going to classmate Danya Marshman (Huntington Woods, Mich.) and freshman Melissa Deland (Washington, D.C.) at 16:56. Just 17 seconds later, sophomore Abbey Fox (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) scored the game winner with help from Coughlin and classmate Annamarie Holmes (Apple Valley, Minn.). Sophomore Laura Hays (Meadville, Pa.) finished off the Tigers' second period scoring with an unassisted goal at 18:25.
Kilbourne provided the only offense of the third period when she netted the last goal of the game off of Coughlin's second assist on the day at 16:09.
In goal for the Tigers freshman Susan Maes (Mantiwoc, Wis.) turned away 23 St. Lawrence attempts while Saints' netminder Caryn Ungewitter had 26 saves.
The Tigers will complete their road trip tomorrow when they face the Cornell Big Red at 2 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y.
