PRINCETON, N.J. - Led by freshman Andrea Kilbourne's (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) two points, Princeton (10-4-1, 9-2-1, 4-0-1) defeated Yale in today's contest at Baker Rink. For Yale (3-7-1, 0-4-1, 0-5-0), Lisa Meyers scored the Bulldog's first Ivy League goal of the season.
The Tigers took an early lead, scoring two goals in the first period. The first was an unassisted goal by Kilbourne for her first point of the day at 7:04. Just 54 seconds later, Meyers scored Yale's only goal of the game. Then, with only six seconds left in the period, sophomore Annamarie Holmes (Apple Valley, Minn.) scored the game winner off of assists from Kilbourne and sophomore Abbey Fox (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.).
Junior Danya Marshman (Huntington Woods, Mich.) finished the Tigers' scoring in the third period with a power-play goal at 4:45. Assisting on the play were senior Ali Coughlin (Lincoln, Mass.) and junior Dani Holtschlag (Depere, Wis.).
For the Bulldogs, goaltender Katie Hirte stopped 25 Tigers' shots while Princeton's Susan Maes had 13 saves.
The Tigers will travel to Northeastern and Harvard this Saturday and Sunday, January 9 and 10 for 2 p.m. games.
