Women's Volleyball Opens With Solid Performance At St. John's

JAMAICA, N.Y. - Led by phenomenal hitting by Emily Brown (Jr., Palo Alto, Cal.) and the typically solid setting of Melissa Ford (Sr., Los Angeles, Cal.), the Princeton University women's volleyball team took two of three matches at the tough St. John's Invitational this weekend.
The Tigers started by falling to undefeated James Madison last night, but their performance got significantly stronger after that. The Tigers took down the Red Storm in four tough games and before steamrolling over Lafayette in three games.
For the weekend, Brown had 39 kills to only seven errors for an amazing attack percentage of .390, and she added four blocks. Ford averaged 12.5 assists/game and had 66 in the four-game win over St. John's. Sabrina King (Jr., Laguna Beach, Cal.) had a team-high 30 kills against St. John's and led the team in digs in each of the three matches.
