HANOVER, N.H. - Kristen King scored two goals to lead the Dartmouth Big Green to a 3-1 victory against the Princeton Tigers on Saturday afternoon in women's hockey action at Thompson Arena.
King gave the Big Green a 2-0 lead, scoring a goal in both the first and second periods. Her first of the game came off a perfect centering pass from Kristin Romberg with just 32 seconds remaining in the period. Liz Marci also assisted on the goal.
In the second period, King knocked home a Kim McCullough rebound shot that hit the post. King was untouched and had the entire open net to score. Correne Bredin picked up the second assist.
Princeton closed the gap to 2-1 when Andrea Kilbourne slid the puck under a sprawling Dartmouth goaltender Meg Cahill (20 saves) at the 6:02 of the second period.
Bredin scored an unassisted insurance goal at the 13:43 mark of the second period, lofting a backhander from the blueline that caught Tigers goalie Sarah Ahlquist (27 saves) off guard and hit the crossbar before landing in the back of the net.
