PRINCETON, N.J. - Perhaps the layoff didn't do the Princeton women's hockey team all that much good. The Tigers (5-6-4, 4-5-2 ECAC) arrived back in the United States earlier this week from a European holiday tour and tied the Boston College Eagles (2-10-1, 0-10-1 ECAC) by a score of 2-2 this afternoon at Baker Rink.
All of the scoring was done in the first period. Princeton struck first with a goal by Annamarie Holmes (Jr., Apple Valley, Minn.) Dani Holtschlag (Sr., DePere, Wisc.) assisted. Boston College struck right back on a goal by Lisa Molvar. Kristen Campbell and Jane Jorge added the assists. Boston College took a 2-1 lead at the 18:09 mark of the period on a goal by Jen Buckley. Gena Nolin and Genevieve Richardson added the assists. However, the Tigers came right back on a goal by Nikola Holmes (Fr., Apple Valley, Minn.) and assists by Andrea Kilbourne (So., Saranac Lake, N.Y.) and Annamarie Holmes.
Kilbourne led the Tigers with 18 shot attempts, but could not connect on any of them. Princeton outshot the Eagles 39-20, both teams were 0-for-four on the power play.
Princeton hosts Dartmouth tomorrow afternoon at 2 pm at Baker Rink.
