Tigers Blow Out the Field at Delaware Invitational

WILMINGTON, Del. - After taking a few weeks break for the holidays, the Princeton women's track and field team was back in action last night at the Delaware Invitational at the University of Delaware. The Tigers were victorious with a total of 218 points. Delaware State was second with 122 points. Delaware had 100 points and Howard had 46.
First place finishers for the Tigers were Lauren Simmons in the 500 meters with a time of 1:18.09. Cassie Gyuriczu won the 800 meters in a time of 2:23.14 and Natalie Deffenbaugh won the 1000 meter with a 3:01.58 mark. Nneka Offor and Becky Haarlow took first and second in the 60-meter hurdles. The 4x400-meter relay team took first from Delaware State by more than three seconds. Khalila Thomas won the shot put with a mark of 40' 6 3/4".
In the 3000 meters, Princeton took places 1-6. Holly Huffman won the race, while Sarah Rivlin, Laure Shackelton, Jen Cannistra, Becca Hylander and Elizabeth Grau finished in places 2-6.
The Tigers now take two weeks off for first semester exams and return to action at Jadwin Gym for the Princeton indoor relays.
