Princeton, N.J. - The Yale Bulldogs came into Dillon Gym and silenced the fans with a commanding first-game win 15-12, which really was not as close as the final score would indicate. The Tigers, however, knew their American transcendentalist poetry, and remembered Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's famous poem, "The Tide Rises, and The Tide Falls."
Princeton dispatched with Yale rather easily in the next three games 15-7, 15-10, and 15-6.
Sabrina King led the charge with a 21 kill and 19 dig performance, and freshman standout, Kellie Cramm, rocked the Bulldogs with 20 kills of her own. In fact, many of Cramm's kills were struck so hard that geologists probably thought that there was major seismic activity in Dillon Gym.
"They (Yale) were better than I expected, " commented a reserved Cramm after the match.
Ana Yoerg registered a match-high 57 assists and Abby Studer pitched in 11 kills.
Yale's Stephanie McMahon registered 21 kills and Aileen Daly tallied 54 assists.
The Tigers take on Brown at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
