Past Paves The Way For The Future
October 18, 2000 | Women's Ice Hockey
Dear Friends,
The Princeton Women's Ice Hockey Season is officially under way. The team is once again striving for excellence in hopes of continuing the rich tradition that has been paved from the past.
Each year the coaching staff makes a strong commitment to improving our program. This season we have added another assistant coach, a strength coach, and a team trainer that will travel with us. In addition, the locker room is being reconditioned while many other projects are in the process at Baker Rink.
One of these tasks includes an ?Alumni Hall of Fame? where we will be able to proudly display the many faces of the past. In addition, we have decided to create a Patty Kazmaier Plaque that will be displayed next to the Hobey Baker trophy in Baker Rink.
Along with these improvements come the finances that help make all of these changes possible. If you would like to make even a small donation to our program it will be put to good use. We can help pay for the Patty Kazmaier plaque, rink improvements, meals on the road, and our extensive recruiting efforts. As we fight to make realities happen we really need your help. If anyone would like to help our coaching staff by becoming officers of the friends group please let me know. We need help identifying people from the past, creating new fundraising ideas, and establishing alumni events.
In the future we will try to create an alumni weekend that will include a reception and game, in addition to watching the current Tigers play.
I know our players would love to meet you. We are trying to create a culture for PWIH, a relationship from past to present. I am hoping that your time at Princeton was enjoyable, especially your hockey experience. Having said that, I hope all of you were able to use your Princeton education and PWIH relationships as a vehicle to your own future.
Please stay in touch. It is so easy to fall out of the loop. I am asking each of you to remember where you came from and to remember those that you paved the way for. Once again, If you would like to support our program, join our alumni board, or attend our alumni game please let me know as soon as possible.
Thank You,
Jeff Kampersal '92
