Princeton, N.J. - Freshman Kellie Cramm packed quite a punch for the winning Tigers as she had twice as many kills as the leading Quakers player. The Tigers attacked the tough Quaker defense, with 10 team blocks, with great all-around games from captains Sabrina King and Emily Brown. The Tigers received another consistent effort from setter Ana Yoerg who assisted on 46 kills.
The Tigers trailed 6-0 in game two, but stormed back to take the game 15-9. The third game was very intense as each team exchanged long volleys to keep the play going. The Tigers prevailed 16-14 after an overturned call kept them alive. A Sabrina King attempt was called out, which would have ended the third game and set up a fourth game, but the call was correctly overturned by the umpire.
The Tiger defense picked up 69 total digs, which played an instrumental part in the victory. Freshman Kerry Song had 11 digs, some of which were acrobatic.
Princeton hosts Columbia next Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Dillon Gym.
