Tigers Unable To Overcome Early Deficit

SAN JOSE STATE, CALIF. - The women's water polo team saw an early deficit lead turn into defeat as Princeton fell to No. 5 San Jose State 8-4. The loss was the third straight for the Tigers on their spring break trip.
Princeton fell behind 5-0 at halftime, including four Spartan goals in the second period. San Jose tacked on three more goals in the third quarter for a 8-1 lead. Princeton found the back of the cage three times and did not allow a goal in the fourth period for the 8-4 final score.
Adele McCarthy (Fr., Haydenville, Mass.) led the Tigers with three goals, while Katherine Kixmiller (Jr., Menlo Park, Calif.) added one score. Captain Goga Vukmirovic (Sr., Sarajevo, Bosnia) had nine saves in goal.
The Tigers are now 9-3 on the year, 4-0 in CWPA play. Princeton will be in action later today as it faces Pacific at 4 p.m.
