Cambridge, Mass. - Harvard's Ladd Fritz got one of his three shots past Princeton goalie Jason White en route to a 1-0 Crimson victory on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers fell for the first time in Ivy League competition, moving their conference mark to 1-1-1. Princeton is 3-2-2 overall.
The Tigers have now dropped two straight games after beginning the season at 3-0-2. Princeton allowed one goal in its first five games and has now allowed six in the last two. Harvard is 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League.
Harvard outshot Princeton 11-8 on the game. Fritz's goal at 27:03 came off an assist from senior Michael Pellar. The Princeton loss snaps a three-game win streak Princeton had against Harvard coming into the contest.
White registered six saves in defeat. His goals-against average now stands a 0.91, while his save percentage is at .863. Jamie Roth recorded the Harvard shutout with four saves in the game.
Princeton stays on the road and plays at Seton Hall next Wednesday, Oct. 10. The Seton Hall game will be broadcast on CN8 on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 12:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 14 at 3:30 p.m.
