Friebe Named IvyLeagueSports.com Field Hockey Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior Ilvy Friebe (Bonn, Germany) has been named the IvyLeagueSports.com field hockey Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 4. This is Friebe's fourth Player of the Week award this season, and the fifth of her career.
Friebe led the Tigers to their eighth-straight Ivy League championship by scoring four goals and tallying an assist on the week. She scored two goals in Princeton's 3-2 win over Yale, then added two goals and an assist in the Tigers, championship-clinching victory over Penn. Last week, she broke the League records for goals in a season (15) and points in a season (37). She also broke the school record for goals in a season (29). Friebe is currently leading the nation in points (69), points per game (4.1), goals (29) and goals per game (1.71).
Princeton (15-2, 7-0 Ivy League) received an automatic bid into the 2001 NCAA Championships by virtue of its league title. The Tigers will find out who is next on their schedule when the sites and pairings for the first two rounds of the tournament are announced on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 8 p.m.
