Sports Illustrated for Women Nationally Ranks Three Princeton Women's Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. - The March/April 20001 issue of Sports Illustrated for Women has nationally ranked three Princeton women's teams in one of the top 5 spots. The ranking was made in the Spring Sports - College Preview section of the publication.
Women's lacrosse has been ranked No. 2 behind Maryland for this season. Senior Julie Shaner and juniors Charlotte Kenworthy, Lauren Simone and Kim Smith are all recognized as key returning players for the Tiger offense.
Sports Illustrated for Women places USC as the top team in the nation for women's water polo, followed by California, UCLA, Stanford and Princeton. Freshman Adele McCarthy-Beauvais, who has put together a couple five-goal games this season, is recognized in the magazine as one of the emerging top players in the nation.
Princeton's Women's Crew team has earned the third-place ranking behind rivals Brown and Washington.
