SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Women's Water Polo defeated UC-Irvine, late this afternoon, 8-7. The win follows a disappointing lost to a top rated UC-Santa Barbara earlier today.
Sophomore Jenny Edwards, lead the Tiger offense with 4 goals. Adele McCarthy-Beauvais added 3 more goals to the teams total, Katherine Kixmiller added a goal.
The Tigers were up 4-0 going into the end of the game when UC-Irvine put up the next 5 goals. Due to some last minute tightening of the defense and a revived offense, the Tigers bagged the win.
Earlier today, the Tiger team lost to UC- Santa Barbara 6-5, who is currently ranked 8th in the nation. Goalie, Jenny Hildebrand posted 9 saves.Goals were scored by Adele McCarthy-Beauvais (1), Cassandra Nichols (2) and Jenny Edwards (2).
