SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Princeton lost to San Diego St. 6-5 during the final day of competition at the UCSB Gaucho Tournament. Princeton, who had beat UC-Irvine (8-7) and lost to UC -Santa Barbara (6-5) in earlier play, will face Michigan later this evening in a match to determine 11th place.
Princeton, on a man-up power-play, had a chance to win the game with a minute and a half remaining yet a missed shot that rebounded out to center pool allowed San Diego St. to retain possession of play. San Diego St., with some last minute offense, was able to slip a goal past Princeton's goalie Jenny Hildebrand, who finished the game with 10 saves.
Adele McCarthy-Beauvais and Jenny Edwards each posted two goals. Katherine Kixmiller finished the game with one goal.
