Princeton Crews Earn All-Ivy Recognition

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton men's heavyweight varsity crew was named first-team All-Ivy and the women's open crew was named to the second team for the 2001 season. The All-Ivy League teams are determined by boat finish at the men's EARC and women's EAWRC races. Princeton's heavyweight men won the varsity race, their second title in three years, with a time of 5:31.45 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. The Princeton women's open crew placed second to three-time defending national champion Brown with a time of 6:41.45 on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
Princeton's open crew will compete in the NCAA championships May 24-27 on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga. Princeton's heavyweight and lightweight men and lightweight women will participate in the IRA championships May 31-June 2 on the Cooper River.
