March 28, 2026 | Heavyweight Rowing
PRINCETON, N.J. – The #5 Princeton University heavyweight rowing team opened the 2026 season on a high note Saturday morning at Lake Carnegie, with all five boats earning wins over #16 La Salle, #18 Georgetown and #19 Temple.
"The team did a good job of executing today out in some rather spicy conditions," said Head Coach Greg Hughes. "It was fun to watch the squad get after it and a solid way to start off our season. We have a good feel for things we need to work on this coming week as we gear up to head down to Annapolis for our racing with Navy."
The 1V (6:06.9) earned a commanding first-place finish ahead of the Owls (6:29.7), the Explorers (6:31.5) and the Bulldogs (6:33.6).
In the 2V race, Princeton (6:20.9) crossed the finish line in front of Temple (6:48.8), La Salle (6:49.5) and Georgetown (6:57.1)
The 3V (6:17.9) took down the Explorers (6:54.0), the Owls (6:59.3) and the Bulldogs (6:57.1).
