PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University heavyweight rowing team will open the 2026 season at Lake Carnegie on Mar. 28 against Georgetown, Temple and La Salle.

A New Addition To The Staff
Sergio Espinoza joined the Tigers as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026 season. Espinoza comes to Princeton after nine season on staff at the University of Washington, where he led domestic and international recruiting efforts for five Pac-12 Championships and two Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships.
Returning All-America Selections
Three Tigers who earned Empacher/Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA)All-America honors return for the 2026 season. Marcus Chute was named First Team, while Patrick Shaw and Theo Bell were named Second Team. In addition, 2025 saw Patrick Long '25 honored as a First Team selection and Connor Neill '25 Honorable Mention.
Recapping 2025
2025 saw the Tigers finish fifth in the IRA Ten Eyck Standings, with the 1V finishing fourth in its Grand Final. The 3V also advanced to the Grand Final, while the 2V won the Petite Final. At Eastern Sprints, the Tigers finished second in the team point standings, with the 2V and 3V winning silver and the 1V and 4V bronze.
