PRINCETON, N.J. - One former and one current member of the Princeton women's hockey program have been selected to the 45-player roster for the 2001 USA Hockey Women's National Team Festival. Senior captain Andrea Kilbourne (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) and Annamarie Holmes (Apple Valley, Minn.) will participate in the Festival, which will be held from August 13-22 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
Kilbourne, a forward, has been the Tigers' leading scorer for the past three years and finished the 2000-01 season with 49 points on 22 goals and 27 assists. She also finished fifth in the ECAC in scoring with 33 points (15g, 18a) in 24 conference games and was an All-ECAC and second-team All-Ivy selection.
Defenseman Holmes completed her junior season at Princeton in 1999-2000 before leaving school to train and compete with the 2000-01 U.S Women's National Team. As a junior Holmes finished third overall among ECAC defensemen in scoring and second on the Tigers with 30 points (12g, 18a). Holmes was a three-time All-Ivy and two-time second-team All-ECAC selection.
Participants in the Festival will be divided into two teams that will compete in daily practices and a round-robin tournament. The 25-player roster for the 2001-02 USA Hockey Women's National Team will be announced on August 23 at the conclusion of the camp. That team will play a full schedule of national and international games before being trimmed down to the final 20 players who will compete in the XIX Olympic Winter Games, to be held February 9-24, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
