Princeton Field Hockey Picked Fifth in HockeyPoint! Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton field hockey team has been picked fifth in the 2001 HockeyPoint! Division I Preseason Poll.
Old Dominion, the defending NCAA champion, is the preseason favorite, narrowly edging North Carolina for the top slot. Maryland and Michigan round out the poll's top four teams.
Princeton went 14-4 in 2000 and captured its seventh-consecutive Ivy League title, and 10th overall, with a perfect 7-0 record. The Tigers made their seventh appearance in the NCAA tournament, defeating Penn State 4-4, before falling to host Maryland, 3-1, in the second round.
Princeton opens its season on Sept. 7 when it hosts Northeastern at 1 p.m.
