Princeton's Friebe Named Ivy League Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior Ilvy Friebe (Bonn, Germany) has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 9.
Friebe opened the season with a two-goal performance in a 4-2 win over Northeastern. As an encore, she registered the second hat trick of her career as the Tigers handed Syracuse a 5-1 loss to improve to 2-0 on the season. She currently leads the team in scoring with 10 points and has a total of 49 points (21g, 7a) in her career.
Friebe, who was a second-team All-Ivy and second-team regional All-America selection in 2000, played for the United States national under-21 team in the offseason. She earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors in 2000 and rookie of the week honors in 1999.
Princeton opened its season 2-0 and will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 13 when it hosts Drexel at 7 p.m.
