Friebe Named Ivy League Player Of The Week
September 24, 2001 | Field Hockey
Friebe has continued her offensive dominance, registering five goal and one assist as Princeton opened the defense of its seventh consecutive Ivy title with two league victories last week. She recorded four goals in the Tigers' 7-1 win over Columbia, then added the game-winning goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory against Dartmouth. She leads the league with 27 points (13g, 1a).
Princeton, ranked No. 5 in the NFHCA poll of Sept. 11, has a huge week coming up. It will travel to face No. 3 Maryland on Friday, Sept. 28 for the first meeting between these two teams since a 3-1 Terrapins win in the second round of last year's NCAA tournament ended the Tigers' season. The y will then return home to face defending national champion Old Dominion, ranked No. 2, on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. at Class of 1952 Stadium.
