Hanover, N.H. - No place like home? Forget it.
Princeton's men's basketball completed a big weekend on the road Saturday night, cruising past Dartmouth 57-46 to finish off a sweep of its first two Ivy League games.
Princeton improved to 6-7 overall and 2-0 in the league. The Tigers have won three straight games this season and seven straight Ivy League games dating to last year.
Princeton, Yale and Brown are all 2-0 in the league, while Harvard improved to 3-1 with a 78-75 overtime win against Penn (1-1). Dartmouth fell to 0-4 in the league.
The two road wins came after Princeton had been winless away from Jadwin Gym on the season in six tries before heading to New England this weekend.
The first road win came Friday night in a nailbiting 50-48 win at Harvard. The game at Dartmouth lacked any of that drama. Dartmouth led 5-0 after one minute. By the time the Big Green scored again, 17 minutes had gone off the clock and Princeton had ripped off 20 straight points.
The Tigers led 25-13 at intermission, and Dartmouth showed a brief sign of life with a 7-2 run to start the second half. The Big Green then had three shots to get it closer but missed all three, and Ed Persia then nailed a three-pointer to make it a double-figure lead again. Dartmouth would get no closer, and Princeton would lead by as many as 19.
Ray Robins, starting in place of injured Andre Logan, who suffered a probable season-ending knee injury Friday night, led Princeton with 14 points. No other Tiger was in double figures, but Ahmed El-Nokali and Will Venable had nine each.
Kyle Wente had five points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Tigers.
Princeton shot 19 for 44 from the field and 5 for 19 from three-point range while forcing Dartmouth into 18 turnovers.
