Van Beusekom Named ECAC Goalie Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Megan Van Beusekom (So., Loretto, MN) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference-Northern Goalie of the Week for the week ending Jan. 6 after registering 34-saves in Princeton's win over No. 4 Dartmouth. This is her second ECAC award of the season.
Van Beusekom turned in a 34-save performance in Princeton's 3-1 win over the Big Green on Saturday. She held Dartmouth, a team averaging 4.5 goals per game, to just one score on the day en route to her fifth win of the season. That win propelled Princeton into the national spotlingt, and 10th place in the USCHO.com national poll, released on Jan. 7.
Van Beusekom has played 425:24 between the pipes this season and is 5-2-0. She is currently seventh in the nation with a 1.55 goals-against average, and her .937 save percentage puts her in sixth place in the national statistics. As a freshman, Van Beusekom turned in the third-best season save percentage in Princeton history (.906). She is also fifth in the Tigers record books after recording 454 saves in 2000-01.
Princeton will host an ECAC-North doubleheader this weekend as No. 9 Harvard and Brown come to Hobey Baker Rink. The Tigers will meet the Crimson on Friday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. before closing the weekend against Brown on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 4 p.m.
