Holmes Named ECAC Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Nikola Holmes (Jr., Apple Valley, MN) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference-Northern Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 6 after registering five points in Princeton's weekend sweep of No. 4 Dartmouth and Vermont. This is her first ECAC award of the season.
Holmes doubled her season point total by registering two goals and three assists this past weekend. She scored the game-winning goal and dished out two helpers in the 3-1 road win over No. 4 Dartmouth and capped the weekend by scoring Princeton's first goal and adding in assist in the 5-1 win at Vermont.
Holmes has 10 points on the season (4g, 6a), including a team-leading three power-play goals. She has played in 72 career games and has tallied 48 career points (23g, 25a).
Holmes is one of four Tigers honored by the ECAC this week. Megan Van Beusekom (So., Loretto, MN) was named the ECAC-North Goalie of the Week while classmates Susan Hobson (So., Mississauga, ONT) and Gretchen Anderson (So., Natick, MA) were named to the ECAC Honor Roll.
Princeton (9-5-2, 5-2-0 ECAC-N) is in a three-way tie with St. Lawrence and Dartmouth at the top of the ECAC-North standings and will host a conference doubleheader this weekend as Harvard and Brown come to Hobey Baker Rink. The Tigers will meet the Crimson on Friday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. before closing the weekend against Brown on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 4 p.m.
