Princeton, N.J. - Kellie Cramm (Jr., Laguna Beach, Calif.) and Lauren Grumet (Fr., Summerland, Calif.) have been named the Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Week. Princeton swept an Ivy weekend, rallying to defeat Harvard 3-2 and Dartmouth 3-2. With the two wins, Princeton improved to 15-5, 8-3 Ivy on the season and is currently two games behind first-place Penn.
Cramm tallied 18 kills as the Tigers upset the Crimson of Harvard 3-2 in Cambridge Mass. The next evening, Cramm tallied a match-high 20 kills and a team-best 27 defensive digs to lead Princeton past Dartmouth. Cramm now leads the team with 284 kills on the season. Cramm was also recently named the www.GoPrincetonTigers.com athlete of the week.
Grumet tallied a team high 23 kills with a .348 hitting percentage and 21 digs in the Harvard match. Grumet followed her performance at Cambridge with a 15-kill match against Dartmouth. Grumet, who prior to this weekend played in less then half of Princeton's total games, started both matches this past weekend for the Tigers.
The Tigers return home for matches against Yale, Brown and Penn to round out the regular season. Princeton hosts Penn on November 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Dillon Gym. Penn will also face Brown and Yale this weekend; the Quakers must lose one match if the Tigers are to catch them.
